What made you want to become an Allied Health Assistant?

I chose to enter the health sector after spending three years as an educator in childcare, supporting children aged 0-5. I saw the importance of the early years of development and how necessary early intervention is for continued growth and development. This led me to study occupational therapy to support children and young people one-on-one in achieving their goals and milestones.

Can you describe your approach to supporting young people?

My approach is gentle and relaxed when building a connection with my client over shared interests or learning new ones. I am collaborative and supportive of my client and their family, ensuring they are heard and included. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space for my client to talk, play, create and practice new skills.

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?

A giraffe, I love how tall and cute they are with gorgeous eyelashes. Giraffes are also the tallest mammals on Earth; their legs alone are taller than most people.

What is the most interesting place you have been?

Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia was the most beautiful and largest national park I have visited. It has many waterfalls and lakes, which are mesmerising in colour, and the surroundings are so peaceful.

Do you have any fun or unique talents?

Yes, I can cut, colour, and style hair. I was a hairdresser for ten years and still do the hair of family and friends from time to time.
