Hi, I'm Oliver!

Provisional Psychologist
& Movie Buff

Bachelor of Psychological Science – Honours (First Class)

Oliver is a provisional psychologist; he completed his Bachelor of Psychological Science with Honours in 2020. This is his first role as a practising therapist, he is working towards his full registration as a psychologist through the 4+2 internship program. Oliver began working at Life Skills Hub in June of 2022.

Oliver enjoys hobbies such as video games, movies, and drawing, which allows him to connect through shared interests with his clients. Oliver enjoys listening to young people and their interests, to allow for conversation and therapy to be tailored to the individual. A person-centred approach is important to him, with focus on improving the overall mental health and wellbeing of clients. Oliver has a passion for working with young people, which has developed over his time at Life Skills Hub. He understands the importance of these formative years and aims to give his clients the best opportunity to thrive in life.

Oliver’s approach to therapy is individualised and person-centred, he feels it is essential to place importance on every aspect of the young persons life, to build capacity and independence, improve their mental wellbeing and meet their goals. Oliver works collaboratively with the client, their parents/guardians, and their wider support network, to ensure that the needs are being met that will allow the client to thrive. Through this collaboration, therapy goals can be formed that are important, relevant, and motivating for the client.

Oliver values that strong rapport is built, to maximise the outcomes of therapy, and generate motivation for the young person to attend. Oliver’s care is trauma informed, and he uses a range of therapeutic models within his therapy. This allows for each client’s therapy to be tailored to the individual and their specific needs, and goals.
