Hi, I'm Joe!
Mentor & Vibe Creator
Hey! I’m Joe and I’m a mentor at Life Skills Hub. In addition to working at Life Skills Hub I also work in the education system as a school services officer on the Yorke Peninsula where I grew up. In this role I work with a wide variety of students from year 1 to year 12, as well as students with disabilities, so I have experience working with clients with very different backgrounds.
In my spare time I love to hang out with my family, friends, and my dogs Mac and Rocco. I listen to a lot of music, so I love going to concerts and festivals and I collect vinyls. I love watching TV and movies and am always happy to give and receive recommendations. I have been lucky enough to travel within Australia, Asia, and Europe.

What made you want to become a Mentor?
I wanted to become a mentor because I want to help people. I found a passion for this line of work while working within the education system and I felt my skillset and values aligned with those of Life Skills Hub.

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?
I would love to be a dog. They have my absolute dream life because all the do is lay around and sleep all day and then when their owners get home, they are given heaps of attention.

Can you describe your approach to supporting young people?
I think trust in a relationship is the most important part to working with young people. My main priority is to ensure that the young person feels safe when working with me and that we both understand each other. I do this by being open, honest and respectful with my clients and being invested in their needs and interests.

What is your go-to karaoke song?
My go-to karaoke song is Telephone by Lady Gaga and Beyonce.
