Hi, I'm Jess!
Dietitian
& Op Shop Queen
Jess has been an accredited practicing dietitian since 2021 when she completed her Master of Nutrition and Dietetics. She has worked with a variety of age groups, disabilities and ethnicities in private practice before joining the team at Life Skills Hub in 2023.

Jess is an outgoing and confident individual that shows great enthusiasm to helping young people build positive relationships with themselves, food and the world around them. Working with young people since leaving high school, Jess, has developed an understanding for how important listening to individuals stories and learning about their interests can provide better connections and outcomes to building relationships and achieving their goals. In her work she devotes herself to creating a person-centred approach in practical settings that promote independence, confidence and self-advocacy.

Jess believes in a personalized approach to client care. She integrates frameworks like Health at Every Size and Non-Diet Approach, which shape her values and methods when working with clients. She is an advocate for helping individuals to understand that health exists on a continuum that varies with time and circumstance for everyone. Jess rejects the use of weight, size, or BMI as sole representative for health and provides compassionate care that draws on life experiences that can influence an individual’s health status. Rejecting diet culture helps to foster positive relationships with food and bodies through helping individuals to regain trust in themselves, flexibly enjoy a variety of foods and live comfortably in their own body.
