About Our Social Groups
All groups at Life Skills Hub are specifically structured and supported by our clinical team to curate a supportive environment for skill building. All groups include additional accommodations and adaptations which separate these from mainstream services including;
-
Facilitation by Allied Health Assistants or Mentors who have additional disability training or experience;
-
Accessibility to additional supports such as adaptive equipment, sensory tools and high levels of facilitator support;
-
A predictable routine with the incorporation of a movement break and opportunities for scaffolded social coaching and interaction with peers;
-
The provision of individualized supports as guided by the client and their clinicians and;
-
The documentation of all groups which can be reviewed by the clinical team as required.

Life Skills Hub's Dungeons & Dragons Social Group uses the shared interest of the fantasy role-playing in a group setting to develop social, emotional and team-building skills, and transfer them into real life experience. With their personally created characters, group members will be supported to adventure together through an imaginary world over the course of the campaign.

Life Skills Hub's D&D Group will engage the imagination and provide fun for those that want to discover a new world of heroes and villains while building team bonds and new friendships. Group members will be provided with opportunities to showcase their creativity and flexibility throughout the campaign.

The D&D Group aims to support participants to develop:
-
Increased confidence and self-esteem, sharing imagination and ideas with peers.
-
Ability to collaborate, negotiate differing opinions, have reciprocal conversations and make joint decisions.
-
Growing skills such as problem solving, consequential thinking, organisation and flexibility.
-
Positive interactions with peers; connecting with each other through similar interests.
-
Increased community engagement.
-
Practicing literacy, numeracy and verbal communication skills.
