Occupational Therapist
& Dessert Connoisseur
Dimi is a qualified Occupational Therapist, completing her Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 2020. Prior to joining the Life Skills Hub team in April 2023, Dimi worked with children from birth to young adulthood with a range of diagnoses. Dimi works within the clinic as well as providing community based OT services within the Barossa Region.
Dimi’s experience and passion is working with young people and their families, supporting the development of their confidence and independence to allow for them to achieve their goals. Dimi also previously worked as an Allied Health Assistant before completing her degree, implementing treatment plans for children with a various range of challenges and delays. Alongside this, Dimi has personal experience in the disability sector, providing her with a greater understanding of an individualised tailored approach. Dimi enjoys learning about each client’s interests, strengths and past experiences which helps her to connect with young people and create specific treatment plans individualised to each client. Dimi believes in developing relationship and connection with her clients through using a client centred practice and a trauma informed care approach.
Dimi has training and experience in providing trauma informed care and using a sensory based approach to increase development of independence and functional skills. Dimi enjoys working with young people and their families to create innovative strategies and solutions to increase their independence throughout their everyday life.
Dimi has a strong passion for working with young individuals transitioning to adolescence and supporting them through the physical and mental changes necessary to develop into their authentic selves. She collaborates with families and client support systems, providing them with effective strategies that enable them to provide optimal support to the client.
In her spare time, Dimi enjoys spending time with family and friends outdoors, baking sweets and exploring new places to go for brunch.
