CRAFT GROUP

FORMAT

10 weeks

2 hour session (1:3 ratio)

COST

Saturday (2 hours):
$94 per session

 

TOTAL: $940 for 10 week program

(Plus $86.79 for optional summary document)

 

Cancellation policy:

100% of intended fee (regardless of notice given)

Group costs are split evenly amongst all participants over the 10 week class duration.

Structured Group

About Our Social Groups 

All groups at Life Skills Hub are specifically structured and supported by our clinical team to curate a supportive environment for skill building. All groups include additional accommodations and adaptations which separate these from mainstream services including;

  • Facilitation by Allied Health Assistants or Mentors who have additional disability training or experience;

  • Accessibility to additional supports such as adaptive equipment, sensory tools and high levels of facilitator support;

  • A predictable routine with the incorporation of a movement break and opportunities for scaffolded social coaching and interaction with peers;

  • The provision of individualized supports as guided by the client and their clinicians and;

  • The documentation of all groups which can be reviewed by the clinical team as required.

Get Crafty Social Group is a structured craft group that has been specifically designed by Life Skills Hub. This group gathers the creative minds of young people to further develop fine motor and social skills, as well as executive functioning skills such as ideation and sequencing.  

​

Participants will be provided with the opportunity to showcase their creativity, perseverance and confidence within the program.

Get Crafty aims to support participants to:  â€‹

  • Enhance fine motor skills such as hand-eye coordination and dexterity. 

  • Further develop social skills are used every day to interact and communicate with others, speak in front of others, and work collaboratively.   

  • Support identification of shapes, colours, and textures, whilst working with materials that support participants to get messy and engage in tactile experiences.  

  • Create an environment that is fun and relaxing at the same time as encouraging speech, gestures, facial expressions, and body language.  

  • Develop the ability to focus, concentrate, and minimize distractions whilst completing a craft project from start to finish.  

  • Increased community access, providing opportunities for participants to interact with others within the community.
